From 2003 to 2005, John worked in NI’s R&D department, helping lead the product strategy and roadmap for the LabVIEW software platform, including the development of LabVIEW SignalExpress, an interactive environment for benchtop instrument control and data logging.

From 1999 to 2003, John led the development and business strategy behind ni.com, the award-winning National Instruments Web site.  During this period of tremendous growth and investment, John led the introduction of e-commerce capabilities, end-user profile registration, the NI Developer Zone technical community site, and the company’s heavily-trafficked support forum technology.

John joined National Instruments in 1990 after graduating cum laude from Texas A&M University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.  During his tenure at NI, he has led the company’s recruiting and university outreach efforts at Texas A&M, and created the National Instruments Endowed Scholarship at Texas A&M, a company-wide employee-funded scholarship donation to the Texas A&M Dwight Look College of Engineering.  During his time on the Web team and in R&D, John accumulated 8 technology patents.
