Reference Pros Get to the Next Level in Dallas
Meeting at Dallas' historic Adolphus Hotel on November 8-10, we hosted reference professionals from dozens of great firms such as Dell, EMC, Microsoft, EDS, Oracle, Qwest Communications, SAP, Lucent Technologies, PTC, CA, Hitachi Data Systems, Hyperion, Red Hat, Convergys, VeriSign and many others.
Highlights included:
- Results from our first Special Interest Group on Metrics. Led by Lucent's Barb Krasner, the Metrics SIG is well on its way to developing best practices in this critical area.
- Presentations by programs we hadn't heard from before, including Intel, PTC and Oracle on topics ranging from taking a reference program global on a tight budget to getting customers to disclose ROI.
- We provided more specifics than ever before in our Deep Dive Breakout Sessions by reference pros from SAP, PTC and Epicor Software, including templates, forms, schedules, scripts and other tools that attendees needed to implement the new ideas they learned. Deep Dive topics included leveraging partners to develop a rich new source of references, an e-learning course to train sales people on how to use references, and how to put "high touch" back into your reference management system.
